[ Purpose/significance ] Data sharing has been a hot spot and frontier of the research and practice recently. It＇ s helpful to grasp the trends of data sharing for our counti）j to respond to the opportunities brought by data sharing and to share scientific data following the National Big Data Strategy＇. [ Method/process] This paper tracks data sharing strategic decisions, reports, programs and news released by international government agencies, research institutes, funding agencies, libraries and publishers in recently three years. Then, it summarizes the new developments and characteristics of international data sharing. [ Result/conclusion] Data sharing has attracted more attention from many areas. Its progress presents distinct features： significant cross-border cooperation, vigorously funding and the support, taking it to a strategic level, insufficient recognition and great efforts to improve it. We can draw lessons from good international experiences.
