Based on natural characteristics and the evolution process and present situation of Duolun Nut urban water system, the paper discusses the function and significance of urban water system. Under the concept of＂water decides urban＂ and ＂ecological remediation＂, and the principles of overall coordination, ecological priority and local characteristics, the strategies of constructing urban water system are discussed. The paper puts forward to build perfect urban water system structure and rich waterfront function. What is more, flood control and storage, waterfront plants collocation with the monsoon, as well as full use of ice and snow and avoiding pollution, are also taken into consideration.
