The faunal composition of butterflies in the Yaoluoping reserve were surveyed from 2006 to 2007. Of the total collection of 3026 specimens, 109 species of 67genera in 10 families were identified. According to a preliminary analysis of our materials, it was estimated that 21 species belonged to the palaearctic realm, made up 19.3% of our collection; 40 species belonged to the oriental realm, amounting to 37.3% of the total and the other 48 species were palaearctic realm and oriental realm.
