This paper conducts a survey of 366 R&D personnel in high-tech enterprises and explores the mechanism how ma- terial rewards and collectivist culture affect their intention to share knowledge from the perspective of the subjective norm. The results show that the collectivist culture has a positive impact on knowledge sharing in which subjective norm plays a fully mediating role. Contrary to expectations, the impact of material rewards on knowledge sharing intention is insignificant.
