Joint attention, where infants with autism generally have core defects, is a key skill for early interventions. This study describes the features of typically developing infants' joint attention, including the factors influencing their joint attention and the relationship between the development of their joint attention and their other abilities, analyzes the defects of autistic infants' joint attention and its modes of development, compares the difference between typically developing infants and autistic infants in the modes of the development of their joint attention, introduces the intervention program for such key target behaviors of autistic infants as eye contact, finger pointing and active show, and compares the intervention methods and effects in different researches. In conclusion, the study discusses the problems involving the interventions and the future research trend.
