Jianfeng Ye was born in Zhejiang, Ch, ina, in 1983. He received his B.S. degree in Applied Chemistry from Peking University in 2006. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Chemistry at Peking University under the supervision of Prof. Limin Qi. His current research topic is the solution-phase fabrication and physical and chemical properties of one-dimensional semicon- ductor nanostructures. Limin Qi received his B.S. degree in Chemistry front Peking University in 1990 and his Ph.D degree in Physical Chemistry from Peking University under the supervision of Prof. Jiming Ma in 1998. He then went to the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Germany to do his postdoctoral work with Prof. Markus Antonietti and Dr. Helmut CSlfen on biomimetic miner- alization. In 2000, he joined the College of Chemistry at Peking University, where he is now a full professor. He is an edito- rial board member of Ch, inese Journal of Chemistry and Chinese Science Bulletin, and an advisory board member of Advanced Functional Materials. His current research focuses on the con-trolled synthesis and hierarchical assembly of inorganic micro-and nanostructures by colloidal chemical methods as well as bioinspired approaches.E-mail: liminqi@pku.edu.cn.
