The intermetallic compound is a kind of potential functional material with high strength, low weight and large electrical resistivity. Factors such as added elements, the atomic radius of alloying elements, structure of electron shell, the number of metallic bonds and disordered crystal structure can affect the electrical property. The research results in electrical properties of different types of intermetallic compounds are summarized. At the same time, the applications such as superconducting materials, ion battery anode materials, electric heating components, semiconductor materials are described, and future research and development are discussed.
