In this paper, the definition of WGCN rings is given and some properties of WGCN rings are studied. The proved results are as follows. 1） Let R be a WGCN ring, if I is an ideal of R and I N（R）, then R/I is a WGCN ring; 2） Let I be a reduced ideal of R, if R/I is WGCN ring, then R is a WGCN ring; 3） Let e be a central idempotent, if eRe and （1-e）R（1-e） are WGCN rings, then R is a WGCN ring; 4） If R is a commutative reduced ring, then M4（R） is a WGCN ring.
