A radar control simulator and a physiological polygraph was integrated to analyze the air traffic controllers' emergency response and the physiological parameters when the controllers encounter a large amount of landing demands. Many experienced approach radar controllers were invited to be subjects. Three scenarios were defined based on small, medial and large amount of flights which were under the controller's guide. The novices' and veterans' physiological parameters were obtained, analyzed and compared. The results show that, with the flights increasing, the controllers' Tonic EDA, Phasic EDA, Heart Rate, Heart Rate Variability parameters change significantly. After reaching the large traffic level, the physiological parameters changing ratio comes down. By deeply analysing the controllers' physiological parameters dealing with large traffic, provide a scientific basis for objectively assessing the controllers' emergency response capability.
