As a new type of supporting part, magnetic bearing has been paid extensive attention around the world with the development of modern manufacturing industry. And the control link plays an important role in the whole bearing system. While the performance of control link mainly depends on the design of controller and its controller algorithm It introduces the magnetic bearing firs. Then it describes fuzzy PID control, sliding mode variable structure control, robust control and optimal control theory, applications and limitations of them. Through analysis,it can conclude that these four control strategies can improve the control performanee of magnetic bearing. At last,it makes a simple summary of the control methods in magnetic bearing,and then an outlook about it.
