Visualizing digital collections can relieve the users’ cognitive and retrieval burden,lower the users’ information seeking cost,improve the user’ experience and the knowledge service level of the library by providing information about the scope and context of a collection. The paper puts forward the rapid implementation steps and methods of visualizing digital collections based on the open source tool of Viewshare,and conducts an empirical research.
