平城作为北魏的都城长达百年之久。对于处于干旱与半干旱过渡带地区水资源紧缺地区的都城，水是其命脉所在。应用历史地理学的视角来分析北魏平城的水环境问题，对于今天严重缺水的大同，在合理利用水资源，保障城市供水等方面，应该会有一些历史的借鉴作用。
英文摘要：
Pingcheng lasted about one century as the capital of the Northern Wei Dynasty. As the arid and semi-arid zone of regional water shortage, water was its lifeblood. We use the perspective of historical-geography to analyze water environmental issues of Pingcheng in Northern Wei Dynasty, to afford historical reference for Datong to use and protect water resources.
