Objective:To investigate the relationship between peripheral leucocyte count and coronary atherosclerosis disease.Method: The data of 72 patients who received coronary angiography for the first time during March 2009 and May 2010 were collected and analyzed. Results: The peripheral leucocyte count, neutrophil count, neutrophil proportion,neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio were significantly higher in patients with angiographically abnormal coronary arteries group(n=52) compared with the patients with angiographically normal arteries group(n=20)(P≤0.03).However,the lymphocyte proportions were significantly lower in the angiographically abnormal group(P≤0.02).Conclusions: Peripheral leucocyte count and classification may predict the lesion and severity of coronary atherosclerosis.
