A novel Keggin-type supramolecular compound,（H2bimb）2（SiW12O40）,has been synthesized under hydrothermal condition and characterized by elemental analysis,IR,and single crystal Xray diffraction.It crystallizes in the triclinic system,space group P-1,a=1.122 6（5） nm,b=1.563 5（5） nm,c=1.892 7（5） nm,α=90.957（5）°,β= 93.269（5）°,γ=104.534（5）°,V=3.209（2） nm3,Z=2,R1=0.067 9,ωR2=0.171 2.
