本文回顾国际城市史、中国城市史以及中国城市营建史研究概况．提出中国城市营建史研究可采用系统学、多学科交叉、田野工作与文献研究相结合、比较研究等方法．认为借鉴西方理论和方法应考虑是否适用于中国国情．要提倡研究的理论和方法的创新．要突出中国特色。本文认为研究中国城市营建史有重要的现实意义．并提出应关注的研究内容。文中介绍了首批出版的十本研究专著，并期望更多的青年学者投入研究．以迎接中国城市营建史研究的春天的到来。

英文摘要：

This paper reviews the general situation of the research of world urban history, China＇s urban history and China＇s History of urban planning and construction, and making a suggestion that the research of China＇s history of urban planning and construction may adopt the theories and methods as system theory, intersection of more subjects, combination of field investigation, archaeological studies and document studies, comparison, and so on. That theories and methods of the Western countries whether or not being used for reference is decided by their applicability to China＇s conditions. This paper proposes that new ideas should be applied to the theories and ways of the research and that the research must give prominence to China＇s conditions. It states that the research is of practical importance, and listing the research contents. It introduces the first publishing ten books of the research and hopes that more young scholars join the research to greet the arrival of the research Spring of China＇s urban planning and construction history.
