In this paper, the suspension bridge equations with the free initial boundary value condition utt＋Δ^2u＋δut＋bu^＋＋g（u）=f is considered. The linear and nonlinear approximate inertial manifolds are constructed. The orders of approximations of the manifolds to the global attractor are derived.
