The reasons why the silver alloys tarnished are analyzed briefly. The methods that can improve the silver alloys＇ anti-tarnish capability like surface treating, as well as precious metals alloying, base metals alloying and rare earth elements alloying are summarized. The classical silver alloys produced by base metals alloying and the theory of this silver alloys＇ anti-tarnish capability are introduced.
