With the development and universal application of image processing and recognition, graphical information system, networks and data communications and other information technologies, attention has been paid to the application of image information technology to promote the technical level for forest fire warning. The superiority of fire detection based on image recognition technology was discussed in the paper, with some information systems of forest early fire warning at home and abroad summarized. Its purpose is to promote image information technology research and application of early warning information system to forest fire prevention with intellectual property of our own, and provide better information services for Chinese forestry management and perseveration.
