Innovation is an important theme of social and economic development in China＇s current and future period. College students are the basis for training high-level talents and top creative talents. University needs to take effective measures in time to improve college students＇ learning ability,practical ability and innovation ability. In this context,it＇s necessary to pay special attention to college students of finance and economics. Not only does it have distinct characteristics of major,but also meets requirements of talent demand during economic transition period. It is very important to construct independent innovation system and innovative country. Therefore,this article describes the meaning of research and innovation capability cultivating of finance and economics college students. Then outstanding issues and related reasons what they are facing have been discussed.Finally,some thoughts and suggestions have been put forward.
