Objective To analyze the changes of efficiency of medical services in township health centers and its reasons. Meth- ods The total factor productivity index of medical services in 30 sampled township health centers from ：2009 to 2012 was dynamical- ly analyzed with Malmquist index model based on Data Envelopment Analysis. Results The average total factor productivity index of medical service was less than 1 in 2009. And the indexes were greater than I from 2010 to 2012. Conclusion The progress of tech- nology was the main reason to improve the efficiency of medical services.
