According to the reform practice in Heihe University, this article proposes a series of measures to cultivate the innovation ability of engineering students in newly-established colleges. The paper mainly makes theoretical and practical exploration by focusing on the following aspects： updating talent training concept, constructing the scientific and reasonable course system, strengthening the construction of teaching staff, building the practice innovation platform and enhancing college students＇ self-training, so as to achieve the aim of constantly mproving the quality of talent training.
