Specimens of H13 steel (4Cr5MoSiV1) were glow plasma nitrided at diferent temperature. The Microhardness of the nitrided layers was measured. The mass of non-nitrided and nitrided Specimens was also detected. The activation energy for nitriding is 131.48 kJ/mol for corresponding specimen on the basis of ε^n =Ko·e^-Q/RTτ. The diffusion coefficient is 2. 34×10^-12 m^2/s at 793 K by Fick's first law.
