Bone morphogenetic protein-2 （BMP-2） is a growth factor which has regulating effects on cellu-lar morphogenesis, proliferation and differentiation.Periodontal ligament stem cells （PDLSCs）, as the promising seeds in periodontal regeneration , are capable of self-renewal with multi-differentiation potency .The effects of BMP-2 on PDLSCs remain unknown .It is of great importance to study the biological effects of BMP-2 on PDLSCs.This review fo-cuses on the influence of BMP-2 on PDLSCs in terms of proliferation , apoptosis , differentiation and migration .
