In order to improve the retrieval performance of knowledge base, a Web service is designed and implemented, which is based on the logic inference and can retrieve the semantic knowledge base based on description logics. Firstly, the Web service transforms the OWL-QL clause into the one supported by DL reasoners, and then the retrieval function is implemented by the reasoners. Its interfaces are designed so that it can be called by other web applications. The experiments show that this service is very perfect in retrieving the knowledge base.
