Basic Thermal Engineering is an essential professional basic course. It contains a lot of contents, calculation formulas, a number of conceptions and abstract theory, but the teaching time is less. Based on the above features of this course, the teaching contents, teaching methods, experiment means and evaluation measures with short credit-hour are put forward in the light of the professional characteristics in agricultural university, and the teaching mode of combining the theory with practice is discussed in order to cultivate students' innovative consciousness and problem solving ability, so as to adapt to the requirements of the development of modern engineering technology and the cultivation of innovative talents.
