Based on the sources from NSFC and NPOPSS Full Foundation Database, the paper tries to search the relevant tourism items approved from 1987 to 2007 and make a statistical analysis of their spatio-temporal distribution, units and individuals, research contents and discipline category, existing problems and prospects so as to reflect the general academic trends of China＇ s tourism research in the past 20 years and provide references for tourism researchers who would like to select research projects and apply for relevant foundations.
