The analysis of the English version of Luxun＇s novel Sacrifice which is translated by Yang Hsien-yi and Gladys Yang from the perspective of Chesterman＇s translational norms theory shows that when dealing with the words concerning locations,titles,folklores,as well as other words of Chinese characteristics,Yang Hsien-yi and Gladys Yang apply several translational strategies flexibly such as literal translation,free translation,and splitting,in order to abide by the translational norms at that time.
