According to Julian House’s Translation Quality Assessment（TQA） model and its operation process, this paper applies this process in analyzing and contrasting Zhang Peiji and Gladys Yang’s English version of“The Sight of Father’s Back” by Zhu Ziqing. It focus on field, tenor, mode of the two English versions and the respective deviation degree compared with the original work. Through the analysis and judgment, it finds that the two versions are largely in line with the interpersonal function and concept function of the original work, conveying the basic information and style of the original, thus both can be concluded as explicit translation. However, from the degree of each match, the quality of Gladys Yang’s version is relatively better.
