Liquid crystals(LC) are becoming increasingly important for applications in the terahertz(THz) frequency range. Firstly, the latest research progresses of LC based THz function devices are introduced. Then, the basic principle of THz spectroscopy is summarized experimentally and theoretically. Finally, a further research direction, i.e., the relation between LC molecular structure and its THz optoelectronic characteristic is discussed in detail.
