Pingia granulosus (Chang, 1933 ) was described based on a juvenile specimen collected from "a fiver in Katoutsin, West to Tientai" ( Mt. Tiantai) of Zhejiang, China. The holotype was lost in World War Ⅱ , and no adult specimens similar to Pingia granulosus were collected in Mr. Tiantai and adjacent areas then. The species was considered as synonymy of Pachytriton brevipes. Now five specimens from Mr. Longwang were collected recently and identified as Pingia granulosus (Chang, 1933 ). In this paper the neotype of Pingia granulosus (Chang, 1933 ) was selected and designated to serve as the type specimen. The neotype was described and compared with other five genera in family Salamandridae distributed in China.
