It was reported that Rana japonica japonica distributed in Tianjin and Shandong, the North China was questioned recently. The authors collected 13 speciemens of this species and its tadpoles at Mr. Culai of Shandong in July this year. There exist some differences between this species and other related species, such as R. zhenhaiensis and R. omeimontis, especially in body size and labial teeth formula of the tadpoles, The body size of this species is close to that of R. omeimontis and the labial teeth formula is 1： 2-2/111.
