We searched 174 pieces of papers which including the keyword ＂performance＂ in ＂Strategic Management Journal＂ and ＂Academy of Management Journal＂, the top journals in studying strategy and management areas （1998-2008）. These literatures are classified by based theories, research methods, samples selection and quantity, the return ratio of questionnaires, and the distribution in time of these items, then we analyzes these different sorts of literatures. The development and trend of different theories streams and methods in performance studying are presented.
