Urban planning has two meaning, work of urban planning and scientific research in planning. The scientific research is often ignored. A system of urban planning discipline is put forward, at the point of view of bi-core conceptual model of urban planning discipline. There are three segment subjects in science of urban planning, theoretical urban planning, technical urban planning and applied urban planning. The scientific character is the key content of science of urban planning.
