Habitation choice is one of the most important activities of mankind.Through the analysis of human settlement location in different periods,the paper concludes that the natural environment（land,terrain,water,etc.）,the level of economic and social development（industrial and agricultural production conditions,traffic accessibility,etc.） plays important roles in village location,which have significant difference in different historical periods;as a whole,the effect of the natural environment has been gradually degressive,neighbornood（more） developed regions（coastal zones,urban areas）,traffic convenient localities,beautiful environment districts will be important orientations of village location choice.
