To realize sustainable development and build characteristics humanism city, many cities are now more interested to explore, organize and use historical culture resource. This is the new trend of urban construction in our coutry,also is the response of new viewpoint for resource on a higher stage of development. However, some cities only focus on the supplying doctrine in the excavations and utilization of historical culture resource, ignoring the need of the recipient. in order to improve the efficiency of use of historical culture resource in contemporary city＆#39;s image making, enriching the connotation of city and revitalization of the cultural industry and other aspects, it is necessary to absorb the reasonable ingredients of reception aesthetics.That means we should optimize the current using patterns for historical culture resource from the perspective and position of recipient. The practice of Luoyang in this field can be described as a typical example.
