第一届世界环境史大会是该领域的首次全球性大型集会，它在一定程度上反映了世界环境史学的最新发展和目前版图，从中我们看到了自身的不足。鉴于新的发展形势和趋向，中国环境史学者应放眼世界，努力从文明与自然协同演化的全球过程中认识中国环境史的特殊性；应树立大国情怀，着眼于全球环境危机和人类共同困境，积极开拓新领域，寻找新课题，深入发掘本国环境历史经验和生态文化资源并阐释其全球价值；在积极学习西方环境史学理论方法的同时，应充分继承本土史学传统和思想资源，提出自己的学术命题、研究范式和原创性理论，努力提升中国环境史学的国际地位。
英文摘要：
The First World Congress of Environmental History, reveals the latest researches and the global situation in this field from which we understand our weakness in some degree. We, as China＇ s researchers on environment history should take some steps to improve our researches in the new situation as following： Firstly, we should try to grasp the particularity of Chinese enviromnent history from the universal process of the culture and nature＇ s co - evolution; Secondly, we should discover the values of our country＇ s historical experiences and culture resources in environment to the world; Lastly, we should propose our theories and research models by focusing on our native subjects to promote the position of our researches in the world while we learn from the Westemer＇s theories and methods.
