Most of the family precepts in Huizhou during the Ming and Qing dynasties attach great importance to education, such as the ideas of early education, moral education, comprehensive education, the respect for teachers, encouraging and funding on learning. These family precepts are influenced by a traditional thinking that education is a necessary way for people to become useful to the nation and for a family to become prosperous. Such ideas about education lead to prosperous education in Huizhou. A good many talented people are cultivated who boost the economic development and ensure cultural prosperity and social stability. These thoughts are enlightening to contemporary society.
