Huizhou genealogy includes a large number of documents on view of making a living of the ethnic groups in Ming and Qing dynasties, and reveals that business was an important means of Huizhou people making a living. The concept of the four types of citizens in Huizhou genealogy objectively affirmed the behavior of Huizhou people going out for business and the social status of businessmen, and the concept of industry and thrift in Huizhou genealogy led the Hui merchants to develop in a healthy and good way. These are the concrete display of the concept of making a living in Huizhou genealogy and have had a positive impact on the development and growth of Huizhou merchants in Ming and Qing dynasties.
