江西省良好的生态环境和丰富的生物多样性为鸟类提供了良好的栖息地,吸引了越来越多的鸟类。随着国民生活水平的提高,社会各界的爱鸟护鸟意识随之增强,全省观鸟和鸟类摄影队伍不断壮大,而且观鸟和摄影设备随着技术的发展也越来越先进,以往难以发现和辨识的鸟类现在也变得较为容易,并拍摄到质量良好的照片作为佐证,因此,越来越多的新鸟种被发现和确认,而定期、及时地对全省的鸟类种类进行更新统计对于鸟类的保护管理和科学研究显得尤为重要。本文根据江西省相关调查和鸟友的观鸟记录,结合文献,并以郑光美院士的《中国鸟类分类与分布名录（第二版）》为分类系统,对全省鸟类种数进行了重新统计和核实。经与文献作者或鸟友核实与确认,并咨询国内知名鸟类专家,结果表明,江西省鸟类有20目76科550种,占我国鸟类1 371种的40.12%,其中国家I级重点保护鸟类12种,国家II级重点保护鸟类81种,江西省重点保护鸟类97种。本次统计新增鸟类28种,其中有10种来自鸟友的野外观鸟记录。同时,有43种鸟类因为分类问题或没有标本、照片等确切的野外记录证据,未列入名录中。最后,对江西省鸟类的变化动态及其原因进行分析。

The good ecological environment and rich biodiversity in Jiangxi Province provide a good habitat for birds, which attracts more and more birds. With the development of live of people, the awareness of loving birds and protecting birds of people from all walks of life has been raising and the number of people who like bird watching and bird photography has been increasing. Moreover, with the development of technology, equipment for bird watching and bird photography becomes more and more advanced, which makes it much easy now to discover and identify birds which were hard to be discovered and identified in the past, and good quality photographs can also be taken as proofs. As more and more new species have been discovered and identified, it is particularly important to update the bird species list of Jiangxi Province regularly and timely for conservation management and scientific research on birds. According to relevant surveys and records from bird-watching enthusiasts, combined with relevant papers, and taken A Checklist on the Classification and Distribution of the Birds of China（Second Edition） by Mr. Zheng Guangmei, as classification system, this paper has recounted and verified the number of bird species in the whole province. After the verification and validation with authors of the papers and bird-watching enthusiasts,and consultation with well-known domestic ornithologists, we come to the conclusion that there are 550 bird species, which belong to 76 families, 20 orders in Jiangxi Province, accounting for 40.12% of the national number which is 1,371 species.There are 12 species under first class national protection, 81 species under second class national protection, 97 species under Jiangxi Provincial key protection.
