Based on the practical cases, a special kind of enterprises named science enterprises has been extracted from the scientific and technological enterprises or the high-technological enterprises. The paper defines the concept and the main forms of science enterpri- ses, and analyzes the characteristics, including the deep integration of science and business, the extreme dependence on scientific ca- pability, the high specialty, the huge risk, the short life-cycle, the value-expansibility and the cluster tendency. Then, the paper clarifies the status of the science enterprises from the aspects of technology cgntent, the basic scientific research, the talent training and so on. Meanwhile, it builds up an ＂Imitative Diamond Model＂ to analyze the formation mechanism of the science enterprises. At last, the significances of researching the science enterprises have been summarized.
