Beam tests were conducted to study the bond behavior of corroded steel bar in concrete. The effects of surface crack width and corrosion percentage of steel bar on the ultimate bond strength and the free end slip of reinforcement bar were investigated. Based on the study, the following conclusions had been reached. Surface crack width had little influence on bond strength of corroded RC members with stirrups and free end slip, while the corrosion percentage had strong effect on bond behavior. With the increase of the corrosion percentage, the ultimate bond strength and bond stiffness increased first and then decreased, but they will not be weakened within 5% corrosion. The free end slip at the ultimate bond strength decreased rapidly as the corrosion level increased, the free end slip at 4. 6% corrosion was only 17.6% of that of noncorroded specimens.
