The paper researches and analyses the fractal characteristics of the scale distribution of the Yangtze River Delta megalopolis urban system by investigating urban non-agricultural population data of Yangtze River Delta megalopolis adopted 1992-2009,using nonlinear quantitative analysis tools-fractal analysis method. Empirical analysis shows：Yangtze River Delta megalopolis Population distribution differs largely,and the urban system scale distribution trends scattered;the primate city monopoly position is quite strong and develops mature ;cities of middle sequence have a low degree development and quantity shortages. Finally, the paper puts forward the countermeasures that how to develop and perfect the urban system scale distribu- tion of Yangtze River Delta megalopolis.
