Characteristics of the layout of lines and stations and operation organization of Boston metro were introduced in detail. The operation efficiency was compared and analyzed between Beijing and Boston metro. The enlightenment of the outstanding characteristics obtained from Boston metro can be served as a guideline for the metro network planning and operation in China.
