Criticality assessment of rare earths was studied by using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation methods based on analyzing many factors concerning rare earth resource and application. The results showed the 15 rare earth elements can be divided into strategic groups,critical groups and ordinary groups according to their levels of criticality. Criticality assessment of rare earths is supportive to classified management policy of government.
