英文摘要：
To achieve a superabsorbent polymer possessing high absorption capacity, high absorption rate and desired strength of swollen gel simultaneously, a great deal of efforts have been made in recent years. In this article, the latest investigations on the superabsorbent hydrogels with fast swelling rate and high mechanical strength are presented. Special attention is paid to the preparation techniques used to improve the swelling and responding rates as well as the strength of swollen gel. Also, the research work need to be done later is mentioned.
