Physical and chemical analysis were carried out on the failed T23/TP347 H dissimilar steel welded tube joint for the high temperature reheater of a 600 MW supercritical boiler unit after running about 40000 hours. The results show that the leakage failure of the dissimilar steel welded tube joint is mainly caused by reheat cracking in the heat affected zone( HAZ) near the side of T23 steel tube. The crack distributes along the circumferential direction of tube, which initiates in the coarse grain HAZ on the side of T23 steel tube, and expands along the grain boundary showing a typical brittle fracture.
