The problem of optimal control for discrete-time bilinear dynamical system with quadratic cost was investigated. A novel iterative algorithm for solving the problem is constructed, which has some advantages of computational simplicity and easy implementation. The convergence of the algorithm is also proved; it is shown that the algorithm provided choosing the appropriate control weighted matrix is globally convergent. The simulation example shows the correctness and the efficiency of the algorithm.
