The oxide zinc was reduced to electrolytic zinc powder with the average particle size of about 10μm, which was use to prepare zinc bricks. A conducting drying method was employed to reduce the oxydic loss during drying process of the electrolytic zinc brick,resulting in an 89% depth of discharge compared to zinc powder for zinc-air battery. The discharge power increased to 122% when the electrolytic zinc and zinc powder in alkaline battery blended in mass ratio of 1: 1.
