In the vast area of Shan xi province, it exists the traditional settlements that have Widely distributed and profound cultural background. These traditional settlements provide the vehicle for people growing and living. They are more than the basic cell for social structure and towns＇ development, and also the foundation for the historical memory and the local culture. Base on the analysis to the history of the jiuguangwu village, this article states out the old village＇ s historical value and the character as Large numbers of military fortresses were build while constructing the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty. The article also explores the all kinds of the traditional architectural forms by the way of example. In the end of article, it point out that jiuguangwu village gradually forms its own regional characteristic. And this regional characteristic has positive meaning for today＇ s traditional buildings＇ study.
