For a class of nonlinear time-delay systems with unknown control directions, using backstepping techniques and introducing Nussbaum gain function, a constructive design procedure is given for the output feedback stabilization. It is shown that the smooth controller designed ensures all the closed-loop system signals are bounded and system states converge to zero.
